Somaya is the co-founder and Strategic and Compliance Director of the MindCoach Wellbeing Consultancy which seeks to raise awareness about the importance of health, happiness and wellbeing in the workplace, and to support employers by providing a range of services and workplace health initiatives, together with fast and practical interventions should an employee be experiencing work-related difficulties or ill health.
Somaya qualified as a solicitor in 2002 specialising in employment law and HR issues. She went on to expand her practice in the areas of commercial fraud, business crime and regulatory litigation at a Legal 500 and Chambers UK top ranked firm of solicitors in London. Her work included dealing with complex corporate and financial crime, with a particular emphasis on advising executive management teams on regulatory compliance and enforcement.
Through both MindCoach and collaboration with A Resilient Mind, Somaya uses her background in compliance, employment issues and HR to work with a range of clients promoting workplace wellbeing, developing positive, supportive workplace cultures and ensuring that relevant policies are legally compliant and meet best practice.
Having recognised that employee engagement is closely linked to health and wellbeing, she also works with organisations to deliver wellbeing audits, strategies and HR focused solutions to workplace issues.
Somaya is trained and accredited by Mental Health First Aid.
